The Oscar-winning actress is set to front the hugely anticipated superhero caper when it lands in cinemas next year.
It’ll be followed by Avengers 4 – the as-yet-untitled sequel to Infinity War, which drops next month.
Ben Mendelsohn stars alongside Larson in her solo caper and was recently asked what she’s like in the role.
Unsurprisingly, the multi-talented performer seems to be a hit.
“Brie is absolutely perfect for that role,” he told Entertainment Tonight whilst promoting Ready Player One.
“Why? Because she’s a strong, yet sensitive, contemporary female.
“She is a champion, she’s a fantastic actress and she’s a great human. So you can’t ask for better for Captain Marvel.”
Little is known about Mendelsohn’s involvement in the movie at the moment, but he’s part of an impressive cast.
Joining him and Larson in the solo film will be Gemma Chan, Samuel L Jackson and Djimon Hounsou among others.
Set in the 1990s, it will show Carol Danvers as she turns into one of the galaxy’s most powerful ever heroes.
Larson is not expected to appear in Infinity War but should make an appearance in its sequel.
Captain Marvel is released in March 2019.
