Ashley Roberts responds to Scarlett Moffatt REPLACING her on Saturday Night Takeaway

After three years in her presenting stint on the show, ITV bosses confirmed that Ashley would be replaced by Scarlett, who recently won I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

The 35-year-old is yet to speak to Scarlett directly, but has offered her congratulations, saying: “I hope Scarlett has fun with them. There’s nothing but well wishes, there really is.

“I don’t really know Scarlett. I didn’t watch the Jungle, and I haven’t really seen her so I don’t really know her personally. But I’m sure the boys are going to have fun with her, and she’ll have such a fun time,” the star told BANG Showbiz.

Ashley admits that the trio will get along because they all hail from Newcastle, saying: “I know they’ll probably have a good time and have the same banter.

“I absolutely love and adore those boys and we’ve all talked. It’s been a great run. I did four seasons with the boys and it’s been awesome, I love them to pieces,” she admitted.

The former Pussycat Doll had nothing but kind words about the replacement, adding: “I’ve known for a little while. Everybody reached out to me and we all had a nice discussion and it was handled well.”

Whilst she will no longer spend her Saturday nights with the Geordie duo, Ashley teased that they could team up again in the future, saying: “We all said we are going to work on something in the future.”

Ashley admitted that she would keep tabs on the show, revealing: “I’m sure, if I’m in London and sitting alone on a Saturday, I’ll tune in for sure. They’re really funny!”

She will, however, be on screen on Saturday as she will appear on BBC One’s Let It Shine as a guest judge for this week’s semi-final.

Ant and Dec‘s Saturday Night Takeaway will return to ITV on Saturday at 7pm.
