Antiques Roadshow guest shocked by painting of Queen Elizabeth II’s impressive valuation

It was then time to find out the price of the painting but it wasn’t necessarily the answer the owner was looking for.

Rupert admitted: “Now we’ve got to value it of course. I am slightly worried about how many she’s done and the number of embassies that have this image.

“Yet it is such an iconic thing and it does come straight from her so that’s got to all help, so I would have thought to be between £4,000 and £6,000 not an awful amount.

“But I wouldn’t be surprised if there were monarchists all over the commonwealth who would like to own this it’s such a wonderful image.”

The owner concluded: “Thank you. We are very proud of her!”

Antiques Roadshow can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
