Anthem of Roses‘s protagonist is only a child, but that won’t stop them from tracking down their missing sister, sneaking around armed guards and danger in order to help bring her to safety and get them both out of the ruins of their home town.
Anthem of Roses offers a bleak world for the child hero to explore, working through a grayscale city filled with tanks, soldiers, and other hazards. Players will need to help the boy stay out of sight, hugging walls or creeping through bushes to keep the armed insurgents from catching him, as he has no way of fighting back. The game aims to capture a sadness and hopelessness with its look and challenge, offering players a chance to feel the protagonist’s plight as they try to bring their sister home.
Players who want to get a feel for the game’s deadly game of hide-and-seek can grab an alpha demo from Itch.io, GameJolt, and IndieDB. The developers are also seeking funding on IndieGoGo.
