It looks like it’s not just Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo who can’t keep a secret.
Ant-Man may be a teeny tiny superhero but he just let slip an enormous spoiler about the ending of his latest big screen outing.
Fans already knew that Ant-Man and Hawkeye had not featured in Infinity War because they were still under “house arrest” following their actions in Civil War.
Hawkeye accepted it to protect his family, Rudd just let slip his character’s domestic situation was far less harmonious before he dropped a whopping hint about the end credit scenes and Avengers 4.
Rudd revealed that his on-screen mentor and girlfriend are not pleased about their current living arrangements. He told Late Night With Seth Meyers: “Hank and Hope, they’re not talking to me. We’re a little bit at odds.”
In fact, Rudd knows more about what is happening in the MCU than most stars because he also wrote the Ant-Man 2 script, which means Marvel bosses had to let him in on some of the biggest secrets.
He added: “It’s terrifying to know these secrets. I feel pressure but very privileged.”
And then he went ahead and revealed one of those secrets…
Rudd said of Ant-Man 2 and Infinity War: “It happens kind of concurrently. It’s very important because it doesn’t exist in a vacuum. You have to stay through the end because when you see this thing, through those post-credit scenes, there’s mind-blowing stuff that ties into Infinity War.”
It seems that the post-credit scene will take the audience right to the dramatic finale of Avengers 3, The Snap and what happens next in Avengers 4.
This is reinforced by the comments made by fans and critics at preview screenings.
BenMeckler tweeted: “Some twists and turns that’ll leave those left heartbroken by the events of INFINITY WAR with something to look forward to.”
Kylie Erica Mar added: “The end credit scene is the best part of the whole film and the only thing I can think about right now.”
Brandon Davis summed it up: “Ant-Man and The Wasp has two post-credits scenes you can’t afford to miss.”
ANT-MAN AND THE WASP IS OUT ON JULY 5 IN THE US AND AUGUST 3 IN THE UK
