The movie received an R-rating in the US and shows a schoolgirl (Reed) seducing her step-father (Baldwin).
It contains numerous adult scenes which become increasingly disturbing with the knowledge of the actress’ real age.
In Baldwin’s new memoir, Nevertheless, he says he had no idea she was underage and that he angrily shouted at the producers, including fellow Hollywood star Kevin Spacey, when he found out after the film shoot had ended.
One of the producers, Dana Brunetti, has publically hit back at these claims in a series of tweets which flatly accuse the actor of lying and reveal that Baldwin personally chose Reed for the racy role.
In the film, Baldwin flirts with the teenager, kisses her, rubs lotion on her body, disappears under the bed covers while she is in lingerie and much more.
Baldwin states in his new book: “I was 47, and it never occurred to me to ask how old Nikki Reed was. When I found out, just as we finished, that she was 17, I flipped out on the producers, who had told me something different.”
Brunetti said: “It’s a lie. I read it and was like, ‘What the f***? Of course he totally knew how old she was.”
Brunetti is a respected Hollywood figure who has worked on House of Cards and the Fifty Shades of Grey film franchise.
In a torrent of 11 tweets earlier today he angrily attacked Baldwin’s claims of innocence.
He wrote: “My first indie film was Mini’s starring Alec Baldwin who knew Nikki Reed was 16 (not 17) and he didn’t mind. In fact (Reed) was one of four actresses (Baldwin) had approved and her being the only one of those four repped by his own agency CAA.”
Brunetti continued to tweet as other film makers from Mini’s First Time came forward to corroborate his statements.
He added: “If Alec wanted to lie, fine, but to then to throw us under the bus while doing so? Not on my watch.”
Alec Baldwin has been busy tweeting about his memoir and new hit film, Boss Baby, but has not responded to any of the accusations from Brunetti and his colleagues.
