Aldi UK delivery: Clever shopper shares TRICK to getting German supermarket shop delivered

Many shoppers are hoping Aldi will start offering the service, particularly as they have just won another accolade.

Judges have named the Aldi £10 gin the best in the world, and the supermarket beat more premium rivals to take the prize.

But Tom Church, founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, has revealed he managed to do what many other shoppers haven’t managed to – and it all started with him placing an order on his phone.

He then had his groceries delivered to his house before he had even got out of bed.

Tom, 26, revealed the secret behind getting the delivery to the Sun – and his sneaky trick does come with a catch.

As Aldi do not offer a home delivery service, clever Tom used a third-party courier to place his order.

This only works in London and shoppers can only order a maximum of 20 items.

Tom did this because he worked out even with the fees involved, it was cheaper than buying the same items in Tesco.

He said: “You can hire someone to do your shopping and bring it to your door, and it will still be cheaper than Tesco. The savings are that big.

“The way it works is you tell the courier where you want them to go – your local Aldi – and what you want them to buy. You make a detailed shopping list, place the order and off they go.”

He tried two bicycle courier services – TaskRabbit and Quiqup, and explained: “They cost between £5 – £7. The price varies depending on the distance of the supermarket from your home.

“Yet because Aldi’s prices were so much cheaper, it meant the total cost worked out less than doing a shop at Tesco.”

Tom bought a range of products across different price brackets so that he could make a fair comparison with his local Tesco.

He said: “I bought premium label products such as Specially Selected Aberdeen Angus Rump Steak and basic items such as a mixed leaf salad.

“In every case Aldi was cheaper. The savings were so large I could pay someone to do the shopping for me and deliver it home. It arrived before I had I had even gotten out of bed.”

A spokesperson for Aldi confirmed they have no plans to offer online grocery shopping or delivery at present.
