Holly Willoughby gets ‘DEMOTED’ live on This Morning after giant sausage roll gaffe

The presenter was tasked with replicating what chef Phil Vickery was doing during a recipe for a giant sausage roll.

The 36-year-old was quickly replaced by Phillip Schofield after she came close to ruining the pasty as she attempted to shape it into a wreath.

“Then what you do for the wreath, you get the knife and you cut three quarters of the way through – straight to the bottom,” the cook, 56, started, before quickly adding: “No, no, no, no!”

As the pair gasped at her actions, Holly was left baffled and asked: “What do you mean?” and Phillip urged: “Look what he’s doing! Like that!”

“I thought you meant three quarters of the way down!” the 36-year-old informed, no longer with the knife in hand.

As she attempted to make things right again, Holly continued: “Just squash it down. Put a bit of egg on it. Now you won’t do that at home, you see, I made the mistake for all of you.”

The blonde beauty went on: “Have I been demoted? Can’t be trusted,” just minutes after sending Twitter into meltdown during a segment on Christmas gift inspiration.

Holly and Phillip were presented with lollipops that had been created to look like their faces.

“I mean, that is a lot of sugar. Lick my face,” she jokingly asked, before the studio fell into a fit of giggles.

Phillip – clearly amused – replied: “Do you know sometimes that you’re saying this stuff? Well, no point posting anything else on Twitter today because that’s going to be all over it.”

Revealing what was coming up next, he cheekily added: “Lick my sausage roll.”

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
