BBC Breakfast reporter awkwardly drowned out by cyclists live on show: ‘Be quiet you lot!’

The reporter was covering 800 years of Charter of the Forest at Lincoln Castle when he was almost drowned out completely by their bells.

He had interviewed the Fund4Trees group during his segment on the historic anniversary before they showed off their cheeky side.

As John was handing back to Dan Walker and Louise Minchin, they all started ringing their bikes and thankfully all appeared to be in jest.

“Well done. Thank you very much indeed. Nice to see you, nice to see you folks. Thanks very much indeed,” the presenter had started.

“From the glorious Lincoln, the cathedral and the castle, back to you in the studio,” John continued before the naughty guests started chipping in.

“Be quiet you lot!” he laughed as the noise got louder, before Louise, 49, added: “Cyclists always chatting!”

“@BBCBreakfast Not sure about the weather 800 years ago – but today in Lincoln a new charter for trees eight centuries after the first,” John had tweeted prior to the broadcast.
