Donald Trump, 72, and his wife Melania Trump, 47, stepped off AirForce One in Puerto Rico this afternoon.
The couple arrived at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in Carolina, Puerto Rico looking disaster-zone ready.
Melania wore white jeans, with a white top and a beige cap. She added to the ready-for-action look with Timberland walking boots, a khaki jacket, and aviators.
Her hair was tied up in a no-fuss ponytail. Her husband Donald Trump wore beige trousers, brown boots, and a black, waterproof jacket.
Melania has previously been criticised for wearing heels to areas where the severe weather had hit before.
Critics were shocked when Melania stepped out again this morning to travel to hurricane-devastated Puerto Rico, donning sky-high heels.
However, Melania made a quick change before landing in the US territory.
This didn’t stop eagle-eyed detractors from criticising the look.
One Twitter user wrote: “Melania Trump is wearing heels in Puerto Rico. #JustSayin.”
Another said: “Has @MELANIATRUMP strapped on her 11″ heels yet to hand out care packages in the most restored part of Puerto Rico?” [sic]
Another went to far as to write a poem to show how much they did not appreciate Melania’s choice of footwear.
They wrote: “I do not like Melania’s heels, she knows not how the victim feels, I do NOT like Melania Trump, I wish for once she’s wear a pump!” [sic]
In August Melania was heavily criticised for wearing heels to Texas to see the damage caused by Hurricane Harvey.
On the occasion, Melania opted for straight leg black trousers and a khaki jacket.
She then added some very high, black patent snakeskin heels by Manolo Blank.
On this occasion, one Twitter user wrote: “And here we have Melania Trump modeling what NOT to wear to a hurricane: 5-inch stilettos. How out of touch can you be?” [sic]
