In pictures released by the BBC soap, Max Branning (played by Jake Wood) appears to have found the perfect opportunity to shut Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) up for good after she discovered his sordid secrets.
To Max’s horror, Jane is currently fighting for her life in hospital after being miraculously saved following Steven Beale’s (Aaron Sidwell) arson attack.
However, the cunning Branning is worried Jane will wake up and reveal all about his revenge mission to destroy some residents of Albert Square after he was wrongly imprisoned for Lucy Beale’s murder.
And in tonight’s instalment, a desperate Max visits Jane in the hospital with Ian and is seen looming over her as she recovers.
Will Max take action and kill Jane to stop his secrets from coming out?
Elsewhere in Walford, Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) finally finds out the shocking truth about Steven when his body is released.
On the day of his funeral, a liaison officer tells the family that the post mortem results have revealed Steven was never suffering from a brain tumour.
The bombshell sends the Beale family into chaos and Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald) is left on edge worrying if her own involvement in the lie will be exposed.
Will the pressure result in Abi admitting to everything?
