In last weekend’s episode, fans of the HBO hit series finally got to see the son of the Mad King for the first time ever despite the character being mentioned since season one.
In a flashback, Bran Stark (played by Isaac Hempstead Wright) saw Rhaegar and Lyanna Stark get married wich meant Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is a legitimate child and it was also revealed his real name is Aegon Targaryen.
With his long blonde locks, statuesque frame and well-built physique, Game of Thrones fans were certainly not disappointed with the casting of the King in the North’s father.
Fans were quick to track down the new addition and went wild when they saw what the actor Wilf Scolding really looks like with one calling him a “Dilf”.
Many rushed to comment on the star’s Instagram pictures as one person wrote: “Rhaegar Targaryen Can we call you Wilf the Dilf now that you’re Jon’s dad hahah.”
“The role of Rhaegar suits him like a glove, gosh he’s so handsome,” gushed another.
A third praised: “Hey Rhaegar Targaryen! Just wanted to say that you looked gorgeous!”
Another was extremely pleased Wilf was picked to play the part: “You just starred in the moment I’ve been waiting for, for 7 years! You totally lived up to the hype in my brain! Slayed it.”
After the episode ‘The Dragon and the Wolf’ aired, the British star took to Twitter to thank everyone for their kind words.
He wrote: “Thankyou for all the lovely messages, you lot are Ace. Such a huge honour being part of a phenominal cast and show #GoTS7Finale #whosyadaddy.”
No doubt fans will be hoping they see more of Wilf as the storyline develops even further in season eight of the fantasy epic.
Game of Thrones season seven catch-up is available on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
