The 39-year-old popstar took aim at her X Factor co-star as her competitive side kicked in ahead of this year’s series launch.
With long-standing judge Louis, 65, apparently determined to win with his category this year, Nicole Scherzinger brought out the fighting talk, insisting: “Louis doesn’t mean any business, don’t listen to him!
“He’s all talk,” she blasted. “He wants to let everyone through, he doesn’t want to send anyone home. He always says he means business but he doesn’t at all, he’s lying.”
Nicole, who previously mentored winners Matt Terry, 24, and James Arthur, 29, seemed confident as she prepared to make a bid for lucky number three.
“I might be pushing it by saying I am going to win two years in a row,” she admitted. “I’m very competitive and will do the best that I can.”
Although fans of the ITV singing competition have yet to find out which category has been assigned to which judge, Nicole confessed that Simon Cowell, 57, looks like he could go all the way this year.
“I think every category is strong in their own right this year so you never know,” she said, adding: “I’m very surprised by the category that Simon has, I think he’s the one to watch.”
As anticipation mounts for the first episode of the new series, the claws came out as Louis also appeared to take a swipe at former judge Cheryl, 34.
Gushing about how excellent this year’s panel is, he seemed to emphasise that the line-up was much improved for the absence of the ex Girls Aloud star.
The X Factor kicks 2017 kicks off Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
