Charlotte, 42, presented today’s GMB alongside Richard, 61, but things got rather awkward as he brought up how her marriage is going to be affected by Strictly.
When asked about how things are going on the BBC dancing show, Charlotte said: “We had the first group rehearsals this week, it’s [been] a lot harder than I thought.”
She then insisted that she “still didn’t know who her partner was, because that happens on the first show”.
Quick to bring up the fact that once things kick off, Charlotte’s marriage could be in trouble, Richard joked: “The 9th of September is when your marriage begins to crumble. The curse of Strictly.”
Charlotte – who has been married to Mark Herbert since 2008 – then warned: “Don’t start!” as a giggling Richard insisted: “There’s always one isn’t there.”
Quick to comment on Charlotte’s reaction to the whole thing, one person pointed out: “Precious look from Charlotte with Richard #lookinghiddendaggers she looked like she could kill him #GMB.”
Richard got a mixed response from viewers during today’s show, with one person posting: “Richard Madeley, doing his best to out prat Piers Morgan.”
However, a second gushed: “@richardm56 so refreshing having you on breakfast TV can we have more of you sir.”
While a third wrote: “@richardm56 The don of breakfast television. Come on @GMB more Richard please.”
