Supergirl: Lois & Clark legend Terri Hatcher joins CW’s show as a mysterious new villain

The 52-year-old previously starred in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman as Lois Lane in the 1990s so fans will no doubt be excited for her return.

Her role is being kept under wraps but it has been rumoured the star will be playing a mysterious new villain with E! Online reporting that she will be Supergirl’s (played Melissa Benoist) big bad.

“No offence to any of the wonderful actresses who have also played the part, but Teri Hatcher is my all time favourite Lois Lane,” said Andrew Kreisberg, executive producer of Supergirl.

“To have her come back to the SuperWorld in a completely different part is an unbelievable gift to me, Greg [Berlanti] and the fans.”

The Desperate Housewives actress starred in Lois & Clark alongside Dean Cain who played Clark Kent/Superman.

And the two might be reunited once again as the 50-year-old plays Supergirl’s adoptive father Jeremiah Danvers.

The action-adventure drama is based on the cousin of Superman who is one of his last surviving Khryptonians and follows the character who embraces her superpowers to protect her city.

It’s based on the 1984 film, which starred Helen Slater as the heroine with superhuman strength and she also now features in the series.

The show has so far been nominated for many awards and has won three Critics’ Choice Television Awards.

Supergirl airs on Sky 1 in the UK.
