WATCH: Hilarious TV gaffe as reporter FAILS to realise she’s live on air

Broadcaster Sharon Thomas was caught on air unawares as she waited to be given a cue by the crew to go on air and start her news bulletin.

But it seemed that no one realised that they were all on air as Sharon stood waiting to be counted in.

She was seen looking at nervously to the side several times for her cue several times.

The journalist was also seen mouthing to someone off-camera: “Are we on air?”

Finally, someone realised that they were live on air and she swiftly began the report with the sound only working after she started speaking and cutting off her introduction.

Luckily, it appeared that the rest of the bulletin continued without too many problems as she handed over to the weather.

The blunder comes just a day after Kate Garraway made her own mistake on Good Morning Britain as she talked about her favourite TV show.

The 50-year-old was rendered speechless after she accidentally caught herself waxing lyrical about a BBC show.

During a chat with her ITV colleagues about binge-watching TV shows, she gushed about BBC crime series Father Brown.

“I watch Father Brown…” she said before stopping and sheepishly adding: “It’s not ITV…”

Co-star Ben Shephard and Richard Gaisford both ended up laughing at her error as she looked embarrassed.

Good Morning Britain airs on ITV weekdays at 6am.
