SNES Classic Pre Order BOOST as fans prepare for Super Nintendo bedlam

The Super Nintendo looks to be the latest product from the Japanese games giant that will see demand heavily outweigh supply.

We’ve already seen it in the UK, where Pre Order pages have shown sold out status since almost the day they went live.

We already know that Nintendo are only planning a limited run, meaning that at least there won’t be any false hope of more being supplied in 2018.

It puts more emphasis on trying to grab a SNES Mini as early as possible, we can’t forget that the online market places will soon be inundated with overpriced options.

The good news this week is that the SNES Classic Pre Order pages will soon be going live in the United States.

The US is currently one of the last places to see Pre Orders go live, meaning that there is still a faint hope for some grabbing a console.

In the UK, Pre Order for the SNES Classic Mini became available on the day the console was announced more than a month ago.

Announcing the news on Facebook tonight, Nintendo of America said: “We appreciate the incredible anticipation that exists for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, and can confirm that it will be made available for pre-order by various retailers late this month.

“A significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores for launch day, and throughout the balance of the calendar year.”

SNES Classic Mini fans in the US had been given false hope that pre-orders had finally become available when the pre-order page went live on the Walmart website over a week ago.

The pre-order stock quickly sold out, as fans in America rushed to reserve a Nintendo Classic Mini: Super Nintendo Edition.

However a few days later Walmart ended up CANCELLING all pre-orders. They said a “technical glitch” had caused the pre-orders to become available early.

Fans have seen new placeholder pages going live this week, with Target’s now live to view.

But many are prepared for the disappointment of missing out on the initial rush to grab a SNES Mini console.

“Great news! Now I’ll just keep my fingers crossed that “a significant amount of additional systems” is actually you know, significant,” one fan commented online.

While another added: “Right, but what are the odds of being able to snag a pre-order? It’s almost impossible, especially since I’m not attached to my computer 24/7. By the time I see that pre-orders are live, I’ll miss it.

“It’s just frustrating. I got lucky getting an NES classic off Prime Now four months after it came out. I don’t think I’ll get lucky like that twice, which is a shame because I’d love to have this system.”
