James Bond 25 director: Three frontrunners REVEALED for next 007 movie

On Monday evening the release date of the 25th official James Bond movie was announced for November 2019.

However the press release didn’t reveal who the cast or director would be, let alone if Daniel Craig would return for a fifth movie.

While – the Dunkirk director isn’t one of the three frontrunners for James Bond 25.

According to Deadline, it’s Yann Demange, Denis Villeneuve and David Mackenzie – all of whom have had meetings – who will follow in Sam Mendes’ footsteps. So who are they?

French filmmaker Demange, who is the most likely to bad the job of the three, is best known for ’71 – his 2014 historical thriller about the Troubles in Northern Ireland, starring Jack O’Connell.

He’s now working on White Boy Rick, a crime drama with Matthew McConaughey.

Next up is Canadian director Villeneuve, who is soon to release a little movie called Blade Runner 2049, with Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford. The Oscar-nominee also helmed Arrival, Sicario and Prisoners.

Last but not least is David Mackenzie, a Scottish filmmaker, who saw his Hell or High Water nominated for Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards.

Before that it was prison drama Starred Up that made a name for him, also starring O’Connell.

The 26-year-old English actor is currently 20/1 to be the next James Bond.

James Bond 25 will be released in UK cinemas in early November 2019.
