The British actress, 38, has straddled film and TV success with key roles in both franchises, and spoke at San Diego Comic Con about the frenzies both of them cause.
She said, when asked to compare which fanbase is more “crazy”: “It’s not really a craziness, but the level of passion is pretty much equal.
“What is noticeable is that Star Wars is something many of us grew up with, which gives many of us a sense of hope. That’s how I feel: like I came home.”
She added: “With Game of Thrones, we’re going into season seven now, and there’s a similar feeling.
“I hope that Game of Thrones lives on so people have that same feeling of home and love for it.
Christie plays Captain Phasma in Star Wars and recently teased the upcoming instalment; Episode 8: The Last Jedi.
“It’s a huge film. I think it was a huge undertaking for Rian [Johnson, director],” she told Extra.
“Any Star Wars movie is, but we had all re-established our connection to Star Wars with Episode 7 and with eight we have to go further.
“I don’t think anybody is going to be disappointed.”
Pushed on whether Phasma’s helmet will be removed, she remained coy as she said: “It would see that that is what everybody wants. Isn’t it? Everybody wants that.
“So let’s just hope that everybody gets what they want.”
