The Weatherfield wallflower is about to find herself a new lover as producers introduce a male character just for her.
Beverley has been playing Liz for 30 years on the soap, but is hopeful that her character will find love in the near future.
She said: “Oh, I hope so! I think she may be about to, but how long it will last, I don’t know.
“Our boss Kate Oates told me she’d cast someone hot and I said, ‘You better!’”
The 60-year-old actress also told Inside Soap that she is grateful for the support she received from fans after opening up about her battle with depression.
She added: “When I had depression, people were great. That’s why I went on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, so I could tell it like it is.
“People – your readers, the viewers, everybody – were brilliant.”
It comes as the show came under fire and is being investigated by broadcasting watchdog Ofcom after airing Bethany Platt’s controversial grooming storyline during a Saturday morning omnibus.
An Ofcom spokesman said: “We’re investigating whether this Saturday morning omnibus episode contained scenes that were unsuitable for broadcast at that time.”
Coronation Street continues Wednesday on ITV at 7.30pm.
