It’s certainly a long way away, but the Oscar-winning star is set play Captain Marvel in a movie of the same name come 2019.
The superhero, also known as Carol Danvers, is due to debut in Avengers Infinity War next year, alongside a whole host of Marvel favourites.
Now OmegaUnderground is claiming that Samuel L Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is set to co-star in Captain Marvel.
The website says that shooting is expected to begin in on January 8th next year in Atlanta, Georgia.
They said: “This rumour stems from rumblings within the production community, as his name has appeared as co-starring alongside lead actress Brie Larson for upcoming crew recruitment for the film.
“Omega Underground has previously learned that production will shooting between January and May in Atlanta, filming expected to start on January 8th under the working title Warbird.
“The expectation would be that Jackson’s role would be large enough to be mentioned for crew recruitment.”
It was also pointed out that Jackson, who was disappointed at not being cast in Black Panther, had alluded to his involvement in the film during an interview with WeGotThisCovered.
The actor said: “I’m always open and game. But they got Infinity Wars, two movies to do there, and after that there’s Brie [Larson’s] movie Captain Marvel, which maybe [Nick] will be part of.
Avengers: Infinity War Part One will be released in UK cinemas on April 27, 2018, followed by Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019 and Avengers: Infinity War Part Two on April 26, 2019.
