As Colette, a civil servant from Belfast, stepped up to offer her answer on the film round, host Alexander was eager to find out a bit more about her.
The confident contestant had one request, asking the 47-year-old: “I’ve been learning Italian for the last three months and I’ve been practicing something I’d like to say to you, if that’s alright?”
Ever the professional, Alexander was keen to discover Colette’s talents, begging her to begin.
After Colette beautifully described Xander and his co-host Richard Osman, the latter joked: “How dare you!”
Clearly teasing after misunderstanding her Italian sentence, the host replied: “So you’re very intelligent and I’m a ‘taser’?’
Colette was keen to clear things up, explaining that she called Alexander a “sweetheart”, to which the host gushed, thanking the contestant for her kind words.
But the fluster didn’t stop there, as Alexander was beaming from ear-to-ear, struggling to continue with his duties.
Despite her flirtatious ways, Colette and her partner Toni were stopped at the second round after failing to successfully name low-scoring members of the commonwealth in the northern hemisphere.
