A former Workaholic is one of NBC’s new Champions.
The Peacock network has ordered to series Champions, a new half-hour comedy from executive producers Mindy Kaling and Charlie Grandy (The Mindy Project), TVLine has learned.
The single-camera series follows Vince (Workaholics‘ Anders Holm), a charming gym owner who lives with his “gorgeous idiot” brother Matthew (Aquarius‘ Andy Favreau). Per the network synopsis, “their simple life of women and working out is put on hold when the teenage son (Liv and Maddie‘s J.J. Totah) of Vince is dropped off on their doorstep by Priya (guest star Mindy Kaling), one of his old high school flings.”
Holm previously recurred on The Mindy Project as Mindy’s reverend-turned-DJ beau Casey. He is best known for his role on Comedy Central’s Workaholics, which is coming to an end after seven seasons.
