The One Show viewers ASTOUNDED by EastEnders' Adam Woodyatt's incredible weight loss

The 48-year-old star has been training in preparation for the London Marathon on Sunday alongside his 18-year-old son, Sam.

After Sam was involved in a horrific car crash last year, the Air Ambulance Service came to his aid in under three minutes to rush him to hospital, where he was placed in an induced coma before undergoing major surgery to “piece together” his pelvis.

Appearing on the BBC programme to discuss their endeavour to run the marathon together, Adam praised the rapid response vehicle and said they were running in honour of the Air Ambulance because “lots of people don’t realise they’re just not funded”.

Viewers flooded to social media to express their astonishment at Adam’s new slimmed-down physique.

“Adam Woodyatt looks like a completely different bloke compared to Ian,” one Twitter user exclaimed.

Another added: “Adam Woodyatt on #theoneshow has lost tons of weight. How far ahead is EastEnders filmed?!”

“Ian Beale is looking really well on #theoneshow,” a third commented.

“Are you telling me Ian Beale isn’t overweight in real life?” one viewer queried.

Adam and Sam have been training hard for the marathon challenge, although the actor confessed he’s been training for a little less time than his companion.

He revealed that he had started preparing for the run back in February, although Sam wasn’t aware of that.

“I didn’t know that he only started training in February,” he laughed. “I started training in January when I could walk again!”

“And he’s still quicker,” Adam chipped in.

He also admitted that, as the race looms ever closer, he hasn’t started carb-loading yet because he has been on a diet.

“He’s on a no carb diet and I’m telling him, ‘You need to start carb-loading a couple of days before,” Sam said.

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
