Erectile dysfunction injection cure can also INCREASE average penis size

The P-shot or the Priapus shot, named after the Greek god of fertility, is a blood-based treatment used to cure erectile dysfunction and increase penis size in patients.

The shot was pioneered by Dr Charles Runels, an American MD who specialises in sexuality issues.

The procedure is not for the faint-hearted, as the patient’s blood is withdrawn and processed through a centrifuge to create platelet-rich plasma which contains growth factors.

The plasma is then injected into specific areas of the penis using an ultra-thin needle. The process is already used in sport medicine to rejuvenate torn ligaments.

Dr Runels uses it to increase penis size by ten to 20 per cent and improve blood flow for a stronger, harder erection.

Runels, the inventor of the notorious Vampire Facelift spoke about the procedure to GQ and said: “When I first started doing cosmetic procedures to sculpt the face, it occurred to me that it would be wonderful to do the same thing to the penis.”

The treatment is described on the P-shot website, which says: “First the doctor or nurse applies a numbing cream to the Penis and the arm. Then blood is drawn from the arm in the same was as with any blood test.

“Then, using a high speed centrifuge, platelet rich plasma is isolated from the red blood cells, and contains valuable growth factors.

“The whole process takes about 30-40 minutes and is done in the room with the patient. Then, using a very thin needle, the growth factors are injected into very specific areas the penis.

“Because this area has been numbed with the anaesthetic cream, the patient feels little or no pain.”

Results take from a few days to four weeks to show, and are claimed to last 12-18 months. P-shot costs from £1,000. pshot.co.uk.

Injecting blood isn’t the only treatment being trialled to improve sexual dysfunction – a study in the Journal Of Urology researching new therapies for erectile dysfunction found that “neovascularisation using vascular growth factors have been demonstrated to be feasible in animal models”.

This means if you inject growth factors into a human penis, it will grow new tissue and blood vessels. This has yet to be trailed on a human though, so the treatment is not available in the UK.

Those suffering from erectile dysfunction have welcomed plans to introduce viagra into pharmacies without prescription.

Men would be able to buy the drug, which is used to treat erectile dysfunction after a consultation with pharmacists.

The proposal is set out in a consultation that runs until April 17 from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
