The Last Jedi speculation goes back a long way now, and last year an on-set photo appeared to introduce fans to what has been dubbed as the “Force Tree”.
What exactly the purpose of that Tree is, if indeed it is significant at all, remains to be seen – but it certainly ties up with similarities in The Clone Wars at the Jedi Temple and in Shattered Empire.
Now, however, Making Star Wars claims to have seen a clip of the tree engulfed in flames.
The site claims that the shape of the tree – which appeared on an image-sharing site last year – makes the flames look particularly impressive.
What remains a mystery, however, is how the fire starts – and who starts it.
An obvious assumption is Kylo Ren, assuming someone like Luke or Rey would never need to do it themselves.
Of course there’s also the possibility that the tree burns as part of some sort of vision.
Whatever the case, the Force Tree’s chances of making it out of The Last Jedi alive certainly seem rather slim.
