Len, 72, quit the hit BBC dancing series last year with speculation rife about who will take his place on the judging panel.
Former Prima Ballerina Darcey, 47, admitted she was in the dark over the new judge.
“We don’t have any idea what will happen and I know they’re not going to tell us until the last minute,” she explained to the Sunday Mirror.
“It’s gone very quiet all of a sudden on the rumoured names front. I’m nervous – it’s a good nervous, not bad nerves – but, yeah, I’m getting excited.
“Everyone is asking when it will be announced and I should think it will happen when they announce the celebrities.”
The 2016 celebrity contestants were announced in late August last year, meaning it could be up to five months before Len’s replacement is revealed.
In the same interview, Darcey said it would be unlikely that Craig Revel Horwood would be promoted to head judge as he would be too busy in his role as producer for the show.
