'I heard people SCREAMING' – London terror attack eyewitness gives chilling interview

Paula Salcedo, 38, is in London on her dream holiday, and spoke to Holly & Phil about what she saw.

Describing the scene, she said: “I was walking down the street and all of a sudden I basically saw a car pile down over people like they were dominoes.

“There was a car crunching over crowds of people, people screaming, and I saw the car crash into the wall – just chaos broke lose. Bodies on the floor, bodies under the car – at that point I saw someone get out of the car and people approach and then after that it was a blur.

“I heard it was instant, there were so many officers running towards what had happened, people screaming, it was just chaos, it was horrible. The police response was amazing, I was running from the scene and officers were running towards the scene.”

Explaining why she is in London, Paula said: “It’s been my dream to come to Europe and particularly London, which has always been high on my list.

“I’m 38, I saved up and I’m finally here. Before the attack I felt safe walking around Piccadilly Circus and other monuments – yesterday was a nightmare far beyond anything I could have imagined.”

Earlier that day Paula was visiting lots of key attractions around London; the tourist noted “there was a substantial police presence before the attack anyway”.

The attack took place yesterday with a knifeman attempting to storm the Houses of Parliament and mowing down members of the public on the street outside. The attacker, who has yet to be named, also killed a police officer.

Mr Palmer, a 48-year-old husband and father, was fatally stabbed while stopping the killer.

The attacker was then shot dead by another officer.

Another member of the public was also killed in the attack, although police have not specified where this fatality occurred.

Two other police officers are in a serious condition, along with several members of the public.
