Piers Morgan wasn’t even on Good Morning Britain and he was arguing with Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon this evening. Taking to Twitter accusing her of cancelling a scheduled appearance on the news and chat show first thing, the journalist asked the politician to “face the music” and “defend” her actions. But Sturgeon was quick to correct Morgan and explain the whole misunderstanding.
GMB is known for holding many politicians accountable, especially when Morgan is at the helm grilling them and tripping them up with their own contradictory comments.
For some politicians, his interview technique is too much to bear, but not Sturgeon who has appeared regularly on the show.
Tomorrow, he was hoping for another sparring match, but apparently she had cancelled, and he thought it was best to publicly out her.
Taking to Twitter, Morgan wrote: “Just heard you’ve cancelled your @GMB interview tomorrow @NicolaSturgeon – but are still doing the BBC.
“If you’re going to stand by your shockingly hypocritical CMO then face the music & defend it – don’t hide. Not like you.”

It wasn’t long before Sturgeon replied: “I haven’t cancelled anything @piersmorgan because the time hadn’t been agreed.
“I’m more than happy to do an interview if you make the time work with the BBC interview – just before 8am works for me. Or if not I’ll do it on Tuesday,” she stated.
Retweeting her reply, Morgan added: “Great, thank you. We got told something different. I’ll sort a time now.”
With millions of followers between them, someone interjected into the conversation and replied to Sturgeon’s tweet with: “Such a gracious response, to a rude and aggressive – and false – accusation. Perhaps you will receive an equally gracious and public apology from Mr. Morgan.”
“Why didn’t you just pick up the phone and ask her like any normal person rather than make it public just for likes,” another argued.
Others were pleased clarity was given and hoped Morgan would “roast” Sturgeon over Scotland’s Chief Medical Officer – Dr Catherine Calderwood – being pictured visiting her second home despite lockdown rules.
“Scottish CMO must go. Can’t wait to hear Nicola Sturgeon defend her,” a tweet read.
Another added: “Surely in the middle of a pandemic our CMO would not be incommunicado. So did Nicola Sturgeon and her Ministers know her whereabouts the last couple of weekends?”
