Love Island 2020: Caroline Flack blamed by fans for ‘sabotaging’ show as ITV crashes

Love Island is back and tonight, the new ‘winter series’ kicked off on ITV as those watching at home tuned in to see 10 sexy singletons enter the South African villa. However, as viewers tuned in to get their fix, the broadcaster suffered technical issues and froze.

As the nation gathered for the first episode of Love Island, ITV failed to deliver the show.

It came as many fans, who chose to tune into the new series on the ITV hub experienced the video footage freezing, glitching and then a messaged popped up on screen.

It read: “Sorry! This video isn’t available right now. Check out our Shows section for more great programmes.”

Despite the broadcasters efforts to persuade viewers to watch something else, viewers took to social media to fume.

One said: “it would be virgin media to turn the screen black #loveisland.”

“Not the time for ITV 2 to start freezing #LoveIsland,” someone else commented.

A third added: “why is itvhub not working on the biggest night of the year please #loveisland.”

“Did it just glitch #LoveIsland,” one viewer asked while another suggested: “Hi ITV please ok like I know it’s crashed but I can’t go to bed not being on time for the tweets and stuff @itvstudios save us please #LoveIsland.”

“Laura whitmore is better than caroline flack. #loveisland,” one said.

Another added: “I prefer Laura Whitnore to Caroline Flack tbh #LoveIsland,” while a third commented: “I actually like Laura Whitmore #LoveIsland.”

Tonight, the first five girls entered the villa and after settling in, the boys arrived.

One by one, the boys were invited into the villa where they were coupled up with a girl each.

The current couples are as follows: Nas and Siânnise, Ollie and Paige, Mike and Leanne, Connor and Sophie, Callum and Shaughna.

But will they remain together untll the final?

It seems doubtful as ITV bosses have lined up the first bombshell; twins Jess and Eve which arrived later in the show and sent the couples into a frenzy.

Love Island returns tomorrow to ITV2 at 9pm.
