Coronation Street spoilers: Gary Windass facing cruel DEATH as star drops huge bombshell?

Gary Windass (played by Mikey North) is at the mercy of loan shark Rick Neelan (Greg Wood) and has been doing shady jobs for the baddy on the side.

The father-of-one borrowed money from him and is now working off his debt, all the while living a double life, as he keeps it a secret from his family and girlfriend Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien).

But his arrangement with the crooked businessman could leave him on death’s door in a shocking Coronation Street murder plot.

Mikey North, who plays the builder, admitted he fears his character will be killed off the long-running ITV soap in an unexpected twist.

In an interview with The Sun, he said: “I’ve always said, the number of Platt’s boyfriends and husbands that have died, it’s probably got to be me next, but I’ve had a good run!”

He went on to suggest Rick would be the one to take him out and compared him to notorious serial killer, Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre).

“I quite like the character Rick, the way he’s written, it’s almost like the likeable scary bad guy,” he added.

“He’s got some pretty decent one-liners, whereas Pat was pretty much bad through and through, so I think there’s a bit more to like about Rick, but I wouldn’t mess with him.”

Also, the 32-year-old let slip Sarah would meet Rick under “strange” circumstances, with him teasing: “Rick and Sarah will meet eventually, in quite strange circumstances and that’s how she’s going to find out about all this.

“I don’t think anyone can protect anyone from Ricky, he’s pretty ruthless.”

In the coming weeks Carla’s mental health will suffer, perhaps as a direct result of the factory roof collapse.

Coronation Street producer Iain MacLeod said the businesswoman will alienate herself following the incident.

Speaking to Digital Spy, he revealed: “What happens impacts massively on Carla’s mental health.”

The former Emmerdale producer added: “We’re doing something a little bit stylised, like with the Ashley story I did at Emmerdale, but not quite as extreme as Corrie’s take on that.”

Coronation Street continues tonight on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
