Tonight’s Countryfile weather forecast revealed that temperatures will drop to as low as three degrees celsius this week throughout the night.
Sarah Keith Lucas explained: “What we have is higher pressure that is moving its way in from the Atlantic so that should quieten the weather down but there are still a few showers through this evening and tonight.
“With lighter winds and clearer skies that a recipe for a chilly night ahead.
“You can see the light green colours across the map in Scotland and down to Wales.”
The meteorologist went on to add: “So there could well be a frost, three and four degrees in our towns and cities but it will be a little bit cooler than that in the countryside.”
The chilly weather will continue on into Monday however, there will be some bursts of sunshine.
“So Monday morning then, gets off to a rather chilly start but lots of sunshine from the word go,” Sarah said.
“That’s the way it looks really throughout the day. There will be a little but of cloud on Monday just pushing west through the country s a few showers for the west of Scotland.
“Much of country will avoid those showers and it will be a little warmer than it has been at around 14 to 16 degrees on Monday.”
And the chilly weather won’t stop there as the cool temperatures will continue.
“Again, quite a chilly night and there could be a few mist and fog patches on Tuesday morning,” Sarah continued.
“But a lovely day for many of us on Tuesday.
“The cloud does pull in from the north west, further south and east it is looking like a decent day with temperatures at around 14 degrees.
“It will be another chilly night in the south where we have the cooler air in place.”
Later in the week, Sarah revealed Thursday looks set to be the warmest day of the week.
“Thursday will be warmest day across the week,” she said.
Moving on to Friday, she added: “It’s another fine dry day, but it won’t be as warm.
“It’s not a bad week of weather ahead.”
Countryfile viewers will no doubt be pleased that despite a cool start, temperatures will rise throughout the week.
Countryfile airs Sunday on BBC One at 6.15pm.
