WATCH: Street cleaner tries to clear up flooded drain but FAILS miserably

Too much rain can wreak havoc on our waterways, as one poor street cleaner found out.

Caught on camera, and appearing unsure of what to make of the situation, the cleaner began shovelling the fast running water into his bin.

But unfortunately his shovelling had no affect on the situation.

He even looked over his shoulder at one point to see if anyone else could offer a better solution.

After he realised his efforts were not making any difference, he started to give up.

On his fourth shovel, his enthusiasm dies and he completely misses the bin.

The video was uploaded to Imgur with the caption ‘Employee of the month goes to…’, and in 24 hours it’s had almost 250,000 views.

Some users on Imgur commented on the man’s laziness, saying: “You pretend to pay me, I pretend to work.”

Others sympathised with the task the man had been given, and commented: “Whatever he’s getting paid it’s not enough.”

Luckily, one person stepped in to explain why the man was doing what he was doing.

They said: “Just to let you all know. This guy is an apprentice and he was told to shovel and collect rainwater as a joke and actually did.”

A bin man became a viral sensation after suffering an embarrassing fall.

The bin man, from Bradford, attempted to hurdle over two bins to pass time on a cold day.

But the poor young man did all the preparation but didn’t quite think enough about gravity or momentum.

While one man filmed his plight, others gathered to watch the chap try to attempt the huge jump.

The young man looked confident as he took a long run-up to the bins – but he might’ve jumped a little too early.
