Ubisoft have released the official patch notes for the next Rainbow Six Siege expansion, which is set to arrive later today.
Landing at slightly different intervals on all platforms, the development team have opted for a gradual rollout, rather then doing things all at once.
PC players will see the first launch, followed by PS4, and then lastly the Xbox One.
Each platform will see a one hour downtime period, with the new expansion launching with an hour gap between each platform.
The R6 release times are as follows:
- PC: 9:00am EDT / 14:00 BST
- PS4: 10:00am EDT / 15:00 BST
- XB1: 11:00am EDT / 16:00 BST
As announced earlier this year by Ubisoft, Rainbow Six Siege Para Bellum adds two new Operators, as well as a new map and other features.
Codenamed Alibi and Maestro, both operators bring unique sets of skills to the tasks of defending, more on their loadouts can be found below:
New operator, Alibi, is an undercover infiltration specialist in the Italian Gruppo di Intervento Speciale (G.I.S.) unit. She is a cunning adversary with a gift for infiltrating dense networks of organised crime. Alibi is notable for her deployable Hologram, a mechanism that makes it difficult for enemies to positively identify her from her incredibly realistic projections.
The Prisma projects holograms are identical to Alibi in an idle position and when they are shot or touched, the player will be marked and pinged for the next few seconds.
If Prisma is deployed outside, a false “Defender Outside” warning is triggered for Attackers.
New Operator, Maestro, is another member of the Italian, Gruppo di Intervento Speciale (G.I.S.) and participated in joint operations in Iraq, earning a facial scar from a roadside IED. Maestro is notable for his remote access turret, which is also bulletproof, capable of seeing through smoke, and able to fire low powered-laser beams.
Firing high-energy laser beams makes it a pretty formidable gadget, and once affixed to the floor or wall, Maestro can remote-surveil and provide overwatch in a location through the swivel-mounted camera.
When the camera device breaks open to fire a laser beam the core is exposed to damage. Otherwise, the turret is unaffected by bullets and melee. Lastly, Evil Eye can see through smoke.
As mentioned above, the new R6 update being launched today also comes with a new standout feature included; Pick & Ban.
The Pick & Ban system feature provides an extra layer of strategy between teams, as each side tries to counter their opponents’ picks during the banning phase.
However, it should also be noted that teams can swap Operators for the unexpected 6th Pick.
Patch notes have also been released by Ubisoft, and include other changes being worked on by the team.
You can find some of the more notable changes below:
GRENADE THROWBACK
We have removed the ability to throw grenades back at enemies. This feature did not perform as we had intended, and was prone to collateral damage as a result. As such, we looked at the data and saw an unnaturally high occurrence of team kills and suicides that resulted from throwing grenades back.
GLAZ OTS-03 RATE OF FIRE
- The rate of fire for Glaz’s rifle was increased from 220 RPM to 235.
- He was slightly buffed to account for other changes that are coming in Operation Para Bellum.
CLAYMORE PLACEMENT EASE OF USE
- Claymores can be placed closer to walls and objects in the environment.
- Claymores are now less picky about the slope of the ground it is being placed on.
- Pickup is slightly easier to do from different heights.
- You can no longer deploy claymores inside of barricades.
