Michael McIntyre net worth: How much is the hugely successful comedian actually worth?

Michael Macintyre first appeared on the British comedy circuit almost 20 years ago in 1999.

Born in 1976 in Merton, West London, Michael actually first appeared on British TV screens at the tender age of 13, where he was in the audiences of the BBC One Saturday morning show Going Live! Where he appeared on camera asking a question to pop group, Five Star.

He attended Edinburgh University and took classes for one year before dropping out to pursue a career in scriptwriting.

Since then, he has risen to comedy superstardom, appearing on Live at the Apollo, Britain’s Got Talent and having his own BBC One comedy programme, Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.

He has appeared on countless chat shows including Chris Moyles’ Quiz Night, Mock the Week and 8 out of 10 Cats.

A father of two, his fortune is going to good use, but how much is he sitting on?

According to wealth database CelebrityNetWorth.com, Michael McIntyre is worth an estimated £38 million.

Michael began his journey to worldwide fame when he made appearances from 2007-2009 on BBC One’s Live at the Apollo, appearing on chat shows such as Top Gear, The Apprentice: You’re Fired! and The Big Fat Quiz of the Year.

It was in 2009 that he began hosting his successful Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, airing on Saturday nights until the end of 2011.

In 2009 and 2010, Michael won several awards that included Best Live Stand-Up and Best Male TV Comic a the British Comedy Awards.

Due to growing success, in 2012, the London-born comedian earned £22 million pounds alone, named as the highest-grossing comedian in the world.

Contributing to his mammoth earnings, the 42 year-old has released three DVDs, Live and Laughing, Hello Wembley, and Showtime that have sold a combined total of over three million copies in the UK.

On top of his huge DVD sales, the comedian also appeared as a judge on the 2011 series of Britain’s Got Talent, for no-doubt a high fee.

In the same year Michael added to his success, co-hosting various segments on Comic Relief, to appear again in 2013.

In 2012, at the peak of his earnings, the multi-millionaire walked away from his role in Britain’s Got Talent to pursue his stand-up career, already more than financially secure.

Banking what is expected to be a pretty penny, the father-of-two played the biggest comedy gig ever seen in Africa, to 9000 fans in Johannesburg.

Since 2016, Michael has presented Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, now on its third series.

He is set to make bank again this year, announcing his 2018 world tour earlier this year, with performances across Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and America.

The UK leg of the tour was opened by Michael on 2 March, with his tour of Britain set to end on 5 October at London’s O2 arena, where he will perform for 20,000 people.

Showing no signs of slowing down since his most lucrative year in 2012, tickets for the comedians tour went on sale this May, with thousands selling out in no time at all.
