Martin Lewis appeared on This Morning today given Britons and two week warning to swap their Tesco Clubcard points.
The 46-year-old financial journalist appeared on the ITV show today with guest presenters Amanda Holden, 47, and Rylan Clark-Neal, 29.
He told the TV pros: “In January, Tesco announced that it’ll be changing its Clubcard Rewards system.
“At first it said it was going to implement changes immediately but then, after campaigning, including quite vociferously by me, it made a u-turn and said it won’t make any changes till mid-June – which is coming up.”
So, Tesco customers need to make the most of their Clubcard points now, Martin claimed.
From 11 June, instead of being able to swap your Clubcard vouchers for two to four times the value in rewards, in its Clubcard Rewards scheme – they will all be worth three times the value.
Martin said: “So things that you should swap for now, as they’re currently four times (£5 gets £20) and going to three times (£5 gets £15) include Café Rouge, London Zoo, Pizza Express and Prezzo.
“And things you should wait for where £5 is worth £10 but will soon be worth £15 include APH Airport Parking, Evans Cycles, Megabus, RedSpottedHanky, it’ll now be worth £15.”
Martin also reveal how you can get fibre broadband and line rental for less than £20 a month.
The offer lasts up to 3 June and is available to new Vodafone customers.
He said: “New Vodafone customers (who aren’t currently with it for broadband) who go online via many price comparison sites including Broadband Choices, Compare the Market and GoCompare though not direct, can get an 18-month fast fibre contract with average speeds of 35Mb for £20 per month which includes free line rental and unlimited downloads.
“Plus you can claim a free £20 Amazon voucher.
“You’ll be sent instructions within 90 days of how to get it, so factor that in and over the 18 month contract it’s an equivalent £19 per month.”
Martin Lewis also revealed energy savings of £300 are to be had.
In a warning the 46-year-old told viewers: “If you are one of 57 per cent of UK homes who are on a Big 6 standard tariff, be warned your price is going up right now.
“For many people £100 a month is now an average bill for typical usage.”
British Gas went up an average on 5.5 per cent dual fuel, direct debit on Tuesday.
Scottish Power goes up 5.5 per cent dual fuel tomorrow.
