WARNING: This article contains spoilers from 13 Reasons Why
Season two dropped in its entirety on Netflix today (Friday, May 18) for viewers to binge in one go.
The second run of 13 Reasons Why picks up five months after the suicide of Hannah Baker (played by Katherine Langford) and sees her parents going ahead with their lawsuit against Liberty High.
While audio cassettes were used to tell the story in season one, the second run uses polaroids to drive the narrative forward.
Episode one titled – The First Polaroid – saw Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) finding a strange photo turning up in his locker.
The identity of who gave him the photo was a mystery but there are a number of possible people who it could have been.
Who is Scott Reed in 13 Reasons Why season 2?
Among the possible people who could have shared the polaroid is Scott Reed (Brandon Butler), who was close to Clay’s locker when he found it.
On the back of the snap someone had written the words: “Hannah wasn’t the only one.”
Both Scott and Clay made eye contact for a lingering moment, with the latter wondering if the jock had something to do with the photo.
Scott was revealed to be a member of the school baseball team, which means he may want to expose the dark conspiracy that seems to be going on at Liberty High.
He’s a celebrated jock but is new to 13 Reasons Why after joining the show for season two.
Despite hanging out with rapist Bryce Walker (Justin Prentice), it looks like he could be key character in exposing what’s been going on in at the school.
Up-and-coming star Brandon Butler is an American actor who’s previously had roles in General Hospital and Taking Flight.
According to IMDb, Butler is set to be staring in The Run Saga: Breathe and Ring of Silence.
Who gave Clay Jensen the polaroids in 13 Reasons Why season 2?
Fans are set to find out who gave Clay the photos but in the first couple of episodes audiences are left in the dark.
Clay goes to speak to Tyler Down (Devin Druid) about the polaroid because he’s the yearbook photographer and is known for being a shutterbug.
However, Tyler quickly dismisses the photos as “hipster” tripe and says that there are no negatives of the photos.
It’s clear that whoever gave Clay the picture wants him to dig deeper and uncover the conspiracy.
Judging by a teaser previously released, there are going to be lots more polaroids that will come to light and reveal the victims caught up in the sinister plot at Liberty High.
