The Chase host Bradley Walsh hits out at contestant's tactics: ‘Not the aim of the game!'

The celebrity special of The Chase also featured EastEnders actress Charlie Brooks, presenter David Dickinson and paralympian Richard Whitehead.

However, it was Shappi who experienced Bradley Walsh’s wrath when she selected an answer he clearly didn’t approve off.

The moment unfolded as the comedian stepped up to face Shaun Wallace in her head-to-head round.

Bradley, 57, read the question “Which magazine was launched in 2013 to give advice on planning funerals?” where the answers were either A. So Long, B. Farewell or C. Auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye.

However, Shappi’s answer failed to impress the host as she selected the third option.

As Bradley began to voice his concerns, Shappi stepped in to defend herself.

She asked: “Can I just say why?”

To which Bradley replied: “No you may not.

“It’s ludicrous!”

Shappi then tried to explain her unusual choice as she exclaimed: “It was a protest push!”

Bradley shot back: “That is not the aim of the game!”

However, it was clear the pair were in good spirits as they laughed at the moment.

Although, Shappi had got the answer wrong as the right response was Farewell.

Nevertheless, she managed to make it through to the Final Chase along with David and Richard.

Unfortunately, Charlie had been beaten by Shaun in her own head-to-head.

The trio managed to get 12 points to take with them into the last round to see off the Dark Destroyer.

Between them, they had a £56,000 jackpot on the table to play for.

It transpired that wasn’t enough to fend of the chaser though, as they were quickly caught by the brainiac.

But Bradley did give the three of them £1,000 each to give to their chosen charities in the end.

The Chase continues weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
