Starting on Tuesday April 17, Michelle (played by Jenna Russell) will face a string of false allegations.
Hunter Owen (Charlie Winter) will tell his mother Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) that Michelle tried to kiss him.
He will make up the allegation while trying to find a reason to explain why Michelle doesn’t tutor him anymore.
Michelle will demand that Louise speak up and reveal the truth, with Louise later trying to reason with Hunter.
Determined to clear her name, Michelle will storm over to the new E20 club in a bid to speak to Mel.
But Mel won’t like to hear that her son is a liar.
Will Mel back her son, or stick up for Michelle in another dark hour for the character?
It was reported that actress Jenna would be leaving the BBC One soap, with bosses gearing up a shocking storyline.
In an episode earlier this month, Mel asked the former schoolteacher to tutor her son Hunter.
Loyal soap viewers will remember that Michelle had an affair with American schoolboy Preston (Martin Anzor).
Michelle’s affair with the teenager was exposed in dramatic fashion to the whole of Walford.
It came as Preston was also sleeping with Michelle’s 17-year-old niece Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield).
Returning show boss John Yorke reportedly decided to drop the character while bringing back the Slater clan.
Mel bumped into Michelle in the Minute Mart and asked: “You still know how to get the best out of kids, teenagers, the ones who think they know best?”
In a sinister way, Michelle teased that it was her “specialist subject”.
Mel continued: “£20 an hour to get Hunter’s grades back to where they belong?” prompting Michelle to reply: “Absolutely.”
Michelle returned to Albert Square in December 2016 after 21 years away from Walford.
Could this be how Michelle will finally leave Albert Square?
An EastEnders spokesperson said: “Jenna is a terrific actress who has loved her time on the show playing Michelle but it was a mutual decision to write the character out.
“We wish Jenna all the best for the future.”
EastEnders continues tonight on BBC One at 7.30pm.
