Square Enix news: Kingdom Hearts 3 Marvel request, Final Fantasy 7 Remake release update

The Kingdom Hearts 3 release date is still not know, although fans are hoping for a big announcement soon.

Square Enix have teased in the past that they will be revealing some projects in the Spring, ahead of E3 2018.

And this could include the Kingdom Hearts launch, which is apparently scheduled for 2018.

The game has a ton of fans, including Spider-Man creative director, Bryan Intihar.

He was asked during a recent interview if Spider-Man would be featured in Kingdom Hearts, with Intihar responding with enthusiasm for the idea.

“That’d be awesome. They’ve got to start putting the Marvel worlds in there, right?” he told Game Informer.

“They’ve added the Pixar stuff, right, so we need Star Wars, we need Marvel… That’d be awesome to have Sora dressed as Spider-Man! That’d be great. That’d be awesome.”

For those fans interested in the idea, it has been confirmed that it is possible to feature Marvel characters in Kingdom Hearts.

However, that doesn’t mean we will see content from the Marvel and Star War universe appear in the final product.

Tai Yasue, co-director and game designer for Kingdom Hearts 3, had this to say on the two Disney properties:

“They’re all under consideration. Nothing’s off-limits, we’re considering all of the worlds.

“There are so many wonderful concepts. We’re happy about that, but at the same time it’s really tough to choose.

“For each world there has to be some meaning for it, in the plot; in Birth By Sleep, for instance, in the Cinderella scene, the characters learn something specific by relating to Cinderella.

“Also, gameplay-wise, is that world something that would make gameplay fun? There’s a lot I can’t say, but there’s so much to consider.”

When it comes to news regarding Square Enix’s other big game – Final Fantasy 7 Remake – it’s a bit more thin on the ground.

The latest update concerning the development of the game includes the Final Fantasy 7 Remake team hiring personnel to help boost the quality of the game.

Job listings have been found for level planners for the game, which are apparently being hired in a bid to meet fan expectation for the project.

It’s fair to say that there is a lot of hype surrounding FF7 on PS4, which was first revealed back in 2015.

“We’ve come to the conclusion that in order to meet fan expectations we must increase its quality another step higher,” reads the translated job statement.

“Therefore, in addition to the current members for the Final Fantasy VII Remake development, we must establish a core group that includes level planners, battle planners, designers, engineers, and various types of jobs to tackle on the production of the big title.”

The job will include brainstorming level designs for each location, although this isn’t apparently a bid by Square Enix to avoid a bottleneck when it comes to workload.

What we can take from this new announcement is that the full game is still a long way off from being released.

And while we may get an update on the project in 2018, it certainly doesn’t like it will be ready for launch.

There’s the chance that Square Enix will release the game in chapters, in a bid to avoid a long wait time for fans.

This could push forward the release date for the first part of the game, although fans will have to wait for an update from the publisher themselves to find out more.
