Will Meghan wear the Queen’s jewellery? Why actress could wear this brooch

Meghan Markle is a stunning actress who has impressed the British public with her style, as well as winning the heart of the fifth-in-line to the British throne.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will have their wedding on May 19, and then the Hollywood-born entertainer will have official royal status.

As of yet Meghan has not had one honour that Kate Middleton, 36, the wife of Prince William, 35, has enjoyed – wearing Queen Elizabeth II’s jewellery.

As one of the world’s wealthiest women, the Queen has a jewellery collection worth millions, much of which is made up of lavish gifts given through the ages.

Kate Middleton wore her first piece of royal jewellery on her wedding day, when she wore the Cambridge Lovers Knot tiara, which has gone on to be a favourite.

Will Meghan Markle wear a tiara on her wedding day?

It is considered to be quite likely. However, there is another piece of stunning jewellery she may well want to borrow.

The Queen has the Botswana Flower Brooch, which was given to her by the President of Botswana, Festus Mogae.

It is made of gold and 11 pear-shaped diamonds, and depicts a spray of millet, the major crop of Botswana.

It was given to the Queen in 2007, displayed in an exhibition in 2009, and first worn by the Queen in 2014.

Her Majesty wore the brooch last at the a Highland Spring factory visit on 6 July 2017.

Botswana holds a special place in Prince Harry’s heart, and plays a significant role in Meghan and Harry’s relationship.

It was revealed Harry was taking Meghan to the African country in April last year.

Harry and Meghan visited Botswana and camped out under the stars, where they got to know one another.

Prince Harry is passionate about Botswana, and Meghan Markle’s engagement ring was inspired by the country.

The huge stone at the centre of the ring hails from Botswana, and there is an emotional and philanthropical meaning behind this choice.

Diamonds purchased from Botswana generate revenue for their economy – before diamonds were first discovered in Botswana in 1967, it was one of the poorest countries in the world

The Queen’s jewellery often hides a secret message.

This brooch was given to her in her teens for one special reason.

However, it has been revealed that Meghan Markle will not wear this tiara on her wedding day.

The royal tiara is understood to be on loan from the Royal Collection Trust and the Queen.
