The Netflix series earned itself a huge army of fans and they could be in for a surprise over the weekend.
March 31 will mark one year since the first season was released and some viewers think this will be the release date of the second series.
Fans have been speculating on Twitter and many of them believe tomorrow will be the day it finally drops.
One exclaimed: “Omg 13 reasons why season 2 is coming out March 31 tomorrow!!!”
“13 reasons why season 2 comes out on March 31??? Oh okay,” another wrote.
A third questioned: “13 Reasons Why season 2 comes out March 31???”
Although, despite fan enthusiasm, nothing has been confirmed by Netflix.
It’s also looking unlikely after fans were given the opportunity to get tickets to watch the series before it aired.
Taking place in Los Angeles, attendees must be available to watch the series for three days, Friday 30 March, Saturday 31 March, and Wednesday 4 April.
Therefore, it extends beyond the suspected release of March 31.
The programme recently unveiled a warning video starring the show’s actors to caution viewers about the controversial content of the series.
The controversial drama tackles suicide, self harm and sexual abuse.
In the video, Bryce Walker actor Justin revealed the show tackles “tough, real world issues”.
Alisha, who plays Jessica Davis, said: “If you are struggling with these issues yourself, this series may not be right for you, or you may want to watch it with a trusted adult.”
Dylan Minnette, who plays Clay, echoed: “If you ever feel you need someone to talk with, reach out to a friend.
“Call a helpline, or go to 13reasonswhy.info.”
The sexual abuse Jessica suffered at the hand of Bryce is set to take play a “central part” in the new series.
Showrunner Brian Yorkey revealed to Radio Times: “Jessica in particular, her experience continues to be a central part of season two.
“We wanted very much to look at her recovery. To look at what it is to go from being a victim of sexual assault to being a survivor of sexual assault.
“We look at the ways that sexual assault has been perpetrated over a number of years, has been in fact documented.
“Also the ways in which the institutions, the athletics department, Liberty High School itself, are in some ways complicit in letting that happen.”
13 Reasons Why is expected to return to Netflix later this year.
