Royal baby: What is Kate Middleton doing during her maternity leave? Duchess’ daily plan

  • A royal baby is imminent, as Kate Middleton, 36, is currently eight months pregnant with her third child, and her due date is in late April.
  • The Duchess of Cambridge, who is married to Prince William, 35, went on maternity leave last week after her final royal engagement before having her child.
  • It is said she has a fairly busy schedule during this month long period, despite not carrying out any further official duties.

Ahead of Kate’s due date, her final engagement was a Commonwealth event for SportAid charity held at the CopperBox area in the Olympic Park, London.

A Kensington Palace spokeswoman confirmed it would be Kate’s final official engagement until after the birth of her child.

“Today’s public engagements by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be Her Royal Highness’s last before starting her maternity leave.” But how will Kate spend her maternity leave?

While Kate will no doubt spend time relaxing during her leave, she will also be carrying out her normal parenting role as mother of Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2.

This will include taking George to and from school at Thomas’s Battersea, which is located three miles away from the family’s home in Kensington Palace.

Charlotte will also require dropping off at Willcocks Nursey School, a preschool located one mile away from the Palace.

With Easter coming up, Kate may also want to visit her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, in Bucklebury, West Berkshire.

The family may also choose to spend time in Anmer Home, Kate and Prince William’s country house in Norfolk.

It is also likely Kate will be going through a process called “nesting” before the birth of her third child.

This involves decluttering and home improvements, in order to make the home ready for a new baby to come into the world.

“The nesting instinct can be very useful,” psychologist Dr Sandra Wheatley told Mother and Baby.

“There’s a practical, psychological, problem-solving drive behind the urge. When your baby arrives, life will be all about him.

“Embracing the nesting instinct is a good way of minimising the amount of things that might tempt you not to rest once your baby arrives.”

What will the royal baby name be? The bets are on to find out this crucial detail about the unborn child.

One name, Alice, is now by far the most popular name, with Ladbrokes reporting it is twice as popular as any other one in the market.

It is so popular, in fact, that bookies have had to slash the odds of her being called Alice to 6/1, as so many people are voting for it.

But why is this? It is said the name has a special significance for Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II.

Alice is the name of Prince Philip’s late mother, whose full name was Princess Alice of Greece.
