The Alienist season 2: Will there be another season of The Alienist?

Will there be another series of The Alienist?

So far neither US network TNT nor Netflix have officially announced anything and it as always it will depend on ratings.

The Alienist is going to be available internationally on Netflix on April 19 when all 10 episodes will be dropped in one go.

It seems likely that an announcement is going to be made once The Alienist has its Netflix debut with the drama likely to garner further acclaim once it hits the streaming platform.

Season one will be concluding tonight (March 26) as the team tasked with tracking down a twisted serial killer wreaking havoc in New York City at the turn of the century.

HOW MANY EPISODES ARE IN THE ALIENIST?

What will happen in The Alienist season 2?

It all depends on how season one concludes and whether the trio are successful in exposing the serial killer.

If the team manage the nab the warped murderer then season two could see them taking on a brand new case.

However, if they fail to pin down the killer then season two could continue with the first case which is based on the novel The Alienist by Caleb Carr.

THE ALIENIST CAST

Carr serves as a consulting producer on The Alienist and could be helping to devise any possible follow up.

In fact, the author wrote a sequel to The Alienist called The Angel of Darkness.

A potential second season would probably have 10 episodes, just like the first run.

THE ALIENIST, EPISODE 10 PREVIEW

Who will be in The Alienist season 2?

It depends on the events of the season one finale and if any of the central trio are plunged into peril, however it would make sense for the three leads to return.

If there was a season two, Daniel Brühl would be back as the eponymous Dr. Laszlo Kreizler.

While Luke Evans would be returning as John Moore and Dakota Fanning coming back as Sara Howard.

The Alienist drops on Netflix on Thursday, April 19.
