Matt LeBlanc and Chris Harris attempted to speed up British roads, along with farming in the cheeky segment that featured on both tonight’s Countryfile and Top Gear episodes.
Ellie Harrison was forced to abandon filming in the hilarious clip after Top Gear gatecrashed the episode.
The 40-year-old presenter was left soaked after the pranksters from the rival BBC show arranged for a high speed tractor to run through a river behind her.
John Craven’s piece-to-camera was also rudely interrupted by a V8-engined tractor, but it was all part of the fun.
The BBC Two car show saw Matt LeBlanc and Chris Harris attempt to “help out their friends” on the agricultural programme by modifying a farmer’s favourite with a Chevy 500 brake horsepower V8 engine to boost its speed.
High-speed engineering met nature as the two hit shows collided during a revamp of the “humble tractor”.
Top Gear’s resident racer The Stig took the “Track-Tor” for a spin on Countryfile’s favourite Gloucestershire farm, disrupting the presenters and “ruining filming”.
The vehicle burst through barn doors and performed a string of doughnuts while attempting to round up sheep.
The Top Gear website previously explained: “Matt LeBlanc and Chris Harris set out to solve the biggest problem currently facing Britain’s roads: tractors.
“Sure, they’re great at… tractoring, but out on the public highway they’re simply too slow. The tractor is holding up Britain, and it’s Top Gear’s mission to rectify this.
“And that’s where it all went a bit wrong. Sorry, Countryfile.”
Fans of both shows took to social media following the broadcasts, with one viewer tweeting: “We loved Top Gear again. Funny all the way through. Top Gear meets Countryfile should be a thing!”
“#TopGear love the tractor ending with Countryfile would love to take that for a spin!” posted another.
A third added: “Countryfile/Top Gear cross over was 10 times more ambitious than Infinity War #TopGear.”
“They’re merging #countryfile with top gear to boost ratings….” wrote another.
A fifth said: “@BBC_TopGear @BBCTwo @BBCiPlayer Just finished watching it, the last bit with countryfile cracked me up.”
Top Gear continues next Sunday on BBC Two at 8pm.
