Coronation Street spoilers: Billy Mayhew EXIT confirmed as Pat Phelan forces him out

villain Phelan (played by Connor McIntyre) raged at Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) and forced him out of Weatherfield.

However, in true Phelan style, he made it seem as though it was Billy’s own decision.

Phelan issued a terrifying threat to Billy’s life, making him feel “scared” and warning that he will “come for him”.

Twisted Phelan used reverse psychology to unleash his punishment, but prompted Billy to flee to rehab.

Billy handed himself in at Weatherfield’s police station after being unable to deal with the guilt of stealing from Eileen (Sue Cleaver) on Monday night’s episodes.

Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) stepped in as Billy’s solicitor in tonight’s first half after feeling guilty himself having led Billy down his drug addiction pathway.

He managed to get Billy home in the next instalment, but Phelan was not happy when he heard the news.

Phelan already struggles with religion due to the murders he has carried out and screamed that Billy hadn’t suffered enough.

Billy actor Daniel told Radio Times: “Billy finally seeks help, and that’s the worst we’ll see him for now at least.

“It’s been a dark old journey, and very interesting to play. I think he’ll be a better vicar because of what he’s been through!

“Summer will be the catalyst for him sorting himself out.”

It comes after fans kept a close eye on Monday night’s episode as Mary Taylor’s (Patti Clare) long-lost son Jude Appleton (Paddy Wallace) confirmed that he was working as a marine biologist.

Jude celebrated his new job over a bottle of prosecco, but looked shifty like he was hiding a huge secret.

Acting shady in the pub, Jude didn’t act thrilled about his new job and took a phone call to say he could start work next week.

Jude had initially spotted a job at the local marine centre and had an interview after Mary’s encouragement.

Appearing to be racked with nerves ahead of the interview, he didn’t seem too pleased when he returned home.

Elsewhere on the cobbles, Fiz Brown (Jennie McAlpine) and Tyrone Dobbs’ (Alan Halsall) split took a nasty turn.

Fiz flew into a rage at “local kebab s**g” Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) for sleeping with Tyrone.

Fiz had to be pulled off Gemma after their brawl moved out onto the street, with Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) giving Gemma the sack over the affair.

continues tonight on at 8.30pm.
