Saturday Night Takeaway: Ant McPartlin fights back tears after heartbreaking giveaway

were giving away boarding passes for the Saturday Night Takeaway finale in the sunshine state to mothers who were sitting in the audience and watching at home.

The tickets would allow the lucky members of the audience to take their family to Florida.

After handing out a number of boarding passes, Dec noted: “Sometimes dads need to be mums as well.”

The camera then cut to Gareth Ledger who was watching the show with his son at home.

Dec told a very surprised Gareth: “You’ve been nominated by your mother-in-law Ann, who says that since you lost your wife four years ago you have done a fantastic job of being a mum and a dad to your son Braden.

“So we think you all deserve a place on the plane, we’ll see you all in Florida.”

The father-of-one could be seen bursting into tears as he turned to give his son a hug.

The tender moment also caused Ant to shed a tear as he was overcome with emotion.

Dec commented: “That’s a nice one to finish on.”

“He’s got me there, like,” Ant replied as he wiped away a tear. “What are you doing to me?”

It came after the pair reduced midwife Wendy Watson in tears after surprising her with 60 of the babies she had delivered.

Ant and Dec celebrated her achievements as part of their Mother’s Day special as they revealed she had delivered 1,082 children.

They then revealed that the studio was full of people who she had delivered over the years.

As she looked around the audience, she was overwhelmed and began to break down.

Meanwhile, back in her local pub, her family had also gathered to celebrate her work.

Saturday Night Takeaway airs Saturday on ITV at 7pm.
