Kate Middleton, 36, is currently expecting her third with Prince William.
The royal already has two children, Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two.
The Duchess of Cambridge has been working hard in 2018, taking on two new patronages, as well as numerous public appearances.
When will the hard working royal be taking maternity leave? Do members of the Royal Family get maternity leave?
Maternity leave in the UK is up to 52 weeks, and the easiest that it can be taken 11 weeks before the expected week of childbirth.
When Kate gave birth to her first child Prince George on 22 July 2013 she began her leave on June 13, 39 days before she gave birth – just over five weeks.
Express.co.uk has estimated that Kate’s due date is April 29.
If Kate follows previous form she will head off on maternity leave on 21 March, in just under three weeks.
However, Kate is unlikely to have to follow the formal legalities of maternity leave, and will still be paid money from the taxpayer-funded royal coffers regardless.
British monarch expert Arianne Chernock told Today in 2013: “Of course, Kate is exempt from these rules and can do what she wants.”
However, with this third pregnancy Kate has shown that she intends to fully embrace royal commitments despite adding to her brood.
Chernock added: “She has said she’s very eager to continue her work on behalf of the queen.”
“And she is so useful to the monarchy right now that I cannot imagine that she’ll stay out of public view for very long.”
Is Kate Middleton having twins?
Prince William has addressed the rumour, but did not confirm or deny whether this was in fact the case.
He joked about the issue on February 9, when he said: “Twins? I think my mental health would be tested with twins.”
He added, according to Hello!: “Two is fine, I don’t know how I’m going to cope with three, I’m going to be permanently tired.”
