Ivanka Trump is the oldest daughter of Donald Trump, 71, and Ivana Trump, 69.
The mother-of-three was a fashion entrepreneur before she became an official advisor to her father.
The blonde, who has also worked as a model, grew up in New York and was raised as a Presbyterian Christian.
However, she converted to Orthodox Judaism. But why did the presidents daughter choose to change her religion?
Ivanka changed her religion for a very romantic reason, so she could be with her now husband Jared Kushner.
She and Jared, who is the millionaire heir to a property fortune, have been together in 2005, but the pair broke up in 2008 after his parents objected.
Judaism is matrilineal, when means the child on a non-Jewish mother is not considered Jewish by many.
However, Ivanka converted to Judaism the next year, and she and Kushner married in a Jewish ceremony on October 25, 2009.
Ivanka studied with Elie Weinstock from the Modern Orthodox Ramaz School, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City.
She now keeps kosher and observes the Jewish Sabbath.
Ivanka said in the February 2015 edition of Vogue: “We’re pretty observant… It’s been such a great life decision for me… I really find that with Judaism, it creates an amazing blueprint for family connectivity.
“From Friday to Saturday we don’t do anything but hang out with one another. We don’t make phone calls.”
Who is Ivanka Trump’s husband?
Jared Kushner is an American investor, publisher and property developer who currently works as senior advisor to his father in law.
Born into a Modern Orthodox Jewish family, Jared is the son of Seryl Kusner and Charles Kushner, a real estate developer who founded Kushner Companies in 1985.
Before joining Donald Trump’s regime, he was CEO of Kushner Companies and of Observer Media.
