Dancing On Ice 2018: Perri Shakes-Drayton given boot amid ENORMOUS Lemar backlash

Singer Lemar found himself in the skate-off for his third week in a row on Dancing On Ice, as fans voted for who they wanted to see continue in the reality competition.

Yet despite coming up against athlete Perri, 29, for the first time, who received high praise for her first performance on the show, he was saved by the judges again on the ITV series.

The panel, which consists of Olympic skaters Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, dancer Ashley Banjo and Jason Gardiner, voted unanimously for the first time since the series began this month.

They claimed that Lemar was the best skater during tonight’s final performance, and he had improved the most out of the pair, despite skating to the same Bruno Mars song Grenade for three consecutive weeks.

Angry that Perri was evicted in her first skate-off, those at home took to Twitter to complain about the development.

One person said: “So it’s possible to be in the skate-off THREE TIMES without being booted! #DancingOnIce is looking more and more like a fix every week. Are they trying to keep Lemar right to the end?”

“It’s not Sunday evening unless I’ve watched Lemar’s dancing on ice routine to Bruno Mars Grenade #seriousdejavu #DancingOnIce,” another declared.

A third agreed: “WHAT, Lemar should have gone, like yeah he may have had the best skate-off but that’s BECAUSE HES DONE IT EVERY FRICKING WEEK, what a fix #DancingOnIce.”

“What a joke  #DancingOnIce,” a fourth person wrote, followed by: “FFS has lemar got something on the judges or something? why is he still there?  #dancingonice.”

Some fans pointed out other flaws in the process, as one person claimed Lemar should have to learn a new routine like the other skaters.

“I think Lemar should be made to do a new routine for his skate-off now, I feel its becoming unfair on other contestants #DancingOnIce,” they shared.

Another person continued: “Lemar sang Is There Any Justice in the World and there clearly isn’t. If someone is in the bottom two, three weeks in row surely they don’t deserve to stay! #DancingOnIce.”

Not all viewers agreed however, as some praised the judges for recognising the contestant’s skating skills.

“It was the right decision this week, Lemar was better in the dance off. However, it feels like he’ll be in it every week. People clearly aren’t voting for him.

“Why anyone is voting for Cheryl I will never understand! #dancingonice,” another viewer added.

Dancing On Ice continues Sundays at 6pm on ITV.
